CBS Big Brother 9: Episode 30 Recap

With Natalie evicted from the house, Sharon was ecstatic that she has made it through her five nominations. A question in the HOH competition led the HouseGuests to believe that there was another pre-existing relationship in the house, and they were trying to figure out what it was. Ryan and Sheila thought that they might be related without knowing about it. Ryan’s letter was from Jenn, and it was a semi-love letter to Ryan. The reward competition was not only a reward challenge, but the losing team also had to be chained to each other for 24 hours! It involved HouseGuests breaking fake glass bottles over each others heads in the search for a special type of ring inside the bottle. Ryan and Sharon won the competition, leaving Adam and Sheila to be chained to each other.

Ryan could only save one of the remaining HouseGuests, and he chose to save Adam. This effectively put Sheila and Sharon on the block for eviction. The power of veto competition will be key to deciding who will join Ryan in the final three. CBS Big Brother 9: Episode 29 Recap

The plotting continued, with Sharon planning to evict Natalie this episode. She wanted the boys to evict Natalie with two votes, so she wouldn’t have to turn against Natalie. The boys wanted a meeting with the house, and Sheila and Natalie were concerned as to what the meeting would be for. The meeting called out Natalie for playing all sides, and asked her to announce her true loyalties in the house to all. Natalie announced that she was always really on the side of the boys, no matter what she said in public. Realizing that they might not trust her, she did all she could to convince them that she was really on their side, even confronting the girls and accusing them of playing her. Adam called Shelia the “b” word, and she chased him out of the HOH room as a result.

When James was showing his tape, the reactions of the evicted HouseGuests were interested. Chelsea was shocked that James was not originally put up for nomination. James was originally upset and blamed Chelsea for his eviction, but when he saw that it upset Chelsea, he quickly forgave her for what she did. Ryan voted to evict Natalie, and Adam voted to evict Sharon. This forced Sheila to make the ultimate decision, and she did choose to evict Natalie. Ryan won the Head of Household and it was interesting that he immediately accused Sheila of having a secret relationship as one of the first things he said following that.

CBS Big Brother 9: Episode 28 Recap

Will Sheila’s plan to get Natalie voted out via backdoor backfire? That was the big question in this episode of CBS Big Brother 9. Adam and Sharon being nominated for eviction, everyone was interested in the HOH competition. Adam, Sheila and Ryan put on a show for Natalie, and w ere doing a good acting job of making her believe that Adam was upset at Sheila.

For the veto competition, the HouseGuests were summoned as individuals to the backyard. The competition involved putting together a puzzle with the pieces being displayed on nine different television screens. Nine different remotes had to be used, and the contestants surfed channels to get the picture to be just right. Everyone was worried because Natalie had the reputation of being good with puzzles. Adam won the power of veto with a time of 3:20. Ryan and Adam seemed to be wavering from their promise to evict Natalie, especially without throwing her a pity vote. Sheila threated Adam that she would put up Ryan if he didn’t promise to vote out Natalie, so they decided to fake it until Natalie/Sharon were nominated. Sheila replaced Adam with Natalie so either Natalie or Sharon will be evicted this week.

CBS Big Brother 9: Episode 27 Recap

This episode started by showing the end of the Head of Household competition from the last episode. Adam and Sharon were the first two to drop and lose the HOH competition. The dynamics of the competition when Ryan, Sheila and Natalie were left were interesting. Although both Natalie and Ryan dropped after confirming their alliance, and promising not to put up each other, Natalie held on for a long time and seemed unsure as to whether or not she could trust Sheila. She also verbally said things that both offended Sheila and put doubt in the mind of Ryan and Sheila that she can be trusted.

As expected, Sheila got really emotional in the HOH room after seeing pictures of her son. Sheila also initiated her plan to get rid of Natalie (covertly) this week. Natalie told Sheila that “next week you are good” and it was clear to Sheila that she was lying. Sheila’s plan was to nominate Adam and Sharon, and somehow backdoor Natalie in the process. The plan was put in place as Sheila nominated Adam and Sharon at the end of the episode. Natalie’s safety hinges more on the veto competition than she ultimately realizes.

 

CBS Big Brother 9: Episode 26 Recap

James or Sharon were slated for eviction in this episode, with most people believing that James would ultimately be evicted. James was pushing Natalie’s buttons, and she threatened to nominate anyone that laughed at him making fun of her, which caused some people to roll their eyes and wonder just how secure they were with Natalie. Ryan and Adam were getting upset with Natalie, and Natalie told Adam that Sheila was gunning for him. James came up with the idea that he was the only one who could effectively counter Natalie, and secured Ryan’s vote on the condition that he also secure Sheila’s vote.

We saw a glimpse of the CBS Big Brother 9 jury house, and it was fun to watch the reactions of Matt, then Chelsea and then Joshuah in the sequester house. At the eviction ceremony, neither nominee made a serious plea for safety in their speeches, and the evictions started without us knowing for sure who would be voted off as CBS did a good job of creating uncertainty. All three of the voting HouseGuests, Natalie, Ryan and Sheila, voted to evict James. The HOH competition was an endurance task, and it was unclear at the end of the episode as to who had won Head of HouseHold.

CBS Big Brother 9: Episode 25 Recap

Sheila was devastated with being a nominee for eviction, and Adam’s alliance seemed to be crumbling quickly around him. Sheila was extremely upset at Adam, and showed her displeasure by arguing with Adam, and indicating that she would never have done this to him. Adam seemed to be blindly believing James that he would not take Sharon off if he won the POV, and Ryan and Natalie were both worried that they would be put up if James won the POV. Adam realized that he made a huge mistake, and begged for forgiveness from Natalie, Sheila and Ryan. Natalie brokered a high level deal that if James wins the POV and does not use it, she would not nominate him the next week. Sharon and James were both feeling disillusioned and depressed to the point of becoming homesick.

The POV competition had HouseGuests guessing “on what day” an event happened. The participants were eliminated from the competition in the following order: Natalie, Sheila, James, Sharon and Adam. Ryan won the POV, placing James at an immense risk of leaving the house once again. Sheila and Ryan seemed to be silently creating a deeper alliance, pushing Natalie to the fringes.

At the veto ceremony, Sheila asked to be saved to show everyone she was “playing a stronger game”. Sharon told Ryan to do what he wants, and that she would be happy with any decision (knowing that if James gets on the block, he will likely get voted out instead of her). Ryan took Sheila off the block and Adam, as expected, nominated James for eviction.
